Apple today released a free app called “Apple Sports”

February 21, 2011 – Apple today released a free app called “Apple Sports” (U.S., U.K., and Canada only), a sports event platform for iPhone users that integrates team stats, lineups, commentary information, and real-time betting odds, covering the NBA, the United States Soccer League (MLS), the NCAA, the National Hockey League (NHL), the English Premier League (EPL), and more. The platform covers the NBA, MLS, NCAA, NHL, and the English Premier League.
Apple Sports is now available for iPhone users in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, so those with an Apple ID in their region can give it a try.

The App lets you follow the schedules of your favorite teams and leagues, customize the scoreboard and view the schedule on the iPhone home screen.

In addition, the teams you follow are seamlessly synchronized with Apple News and the existing My Sports section of the Apple TV app.

Apple Sports currently supports following teams in the following leagues:

Major League Soccer (MLS)

National Basketball Association (NBA)

National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) (men’s and women’s)

National Hockey League (NHL)

German First Division (Bundesliga)

Spanish First Division (LaLiga)

Mexican Premier League (Liga MX)

Serie A (Italy)
