Steam’s built-in compatibility layer Proton recently released the 8.0-1 version update, adding support for 18 games including Forspoken and Dead Space Remastered.

Proton is the compatibility layer that allows Windows games to run on Linux, and it does so by using a modified version of Wine and a set of high-performance graphics API implementations. Our team has been developing and optimizing Proton for some time, and Proton already has high coverage.
Proton already supports most APIs, and most games can run directly. We’re continuing to improve Proton compatibility, and our goal is to get as close to 100% coverage as possible.
